The First Stage 4 Kidney Cancer Survivor to Surpass 10 Years with ECCT, Without Chemotherapy
In early 2015, Mr. David (44) was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. His left kidney had been overtaken by a 12 cm tumor, and a 4 cm lesion was found in his right kidney. After his left kidney was removed, doctors advised chemotherapy to slow progression and prevent recurrence, though chances of recovery were minimal. Refusing chemo and a second surgery that could leave him without any kidney, Mr. David turned to ECCT therapy instead.
The first months of ECCT brought mild kidney function disturbances and strong-smelling urine, signaling the excretion of dead cancer cells. Over time, his scans showed no recurrence or spread. The lesion in his right kidney remained stable and gradually developed a texture similar to healthy tissue. Five years after starting therapy, his condition stayed normal, and after ten years, his imaging results still showed no sign of active cancer.
Mr. David remains healthy and active today, marking a decade of cancer-free life thanks to ECCT—a remarkable recovery once considered medically impossible for stage 4 kidney cancer.
